Frequently Asked Questions:

Where do I check-in?  There will be a designated registration area on the third floor of the museum. A front desk concierge will be there to guide you. Please bring your printed Eventbrite tickets with you. For those that purchased tickets by check, we will have your name on our guest list.  If you have not already indicated who will be attending the event with the ticket(s) you have purchased, please email the names to our Social VP josie@josiedesigns.com or calling 410-992-8019.

Do I have a ticket?  There are no paper tickets to this event.  We will have your information waiting for you at registration tables located at check-in. Volunteers and the front desk concierge will be at the entrance to help guide you there. 

Where should I park?  Valet parking is available at the Museum, provided by Jay's Valet Service.  You may purchase valet services for a discounted price of $20 online or the night of the event. For 65 and over, we are offering you complimentary valet service. In addition to valet parking, there are various metered street parking options in the vicinity. 

Street parking: There is metered parking on Key Highway and Covington Street.  With a couple of exceptions in front of the Ritz Carlton across from the AVAM, the restrictions are between 10 and 24 hours of time—more than you will need to enjoy the full gala!  In addition, the paid public lot at the Rusty Scupper is across the street on Key Highway.

Valet parking: Turn into the service road on Key Highway in front of AVAM.  You will see Valet signs. 
 

Where in the American Visionary Art Museum is the event?  The event will take place in the Jim Rouse Pavilion. (The building with the neon are sign installation “Oh Say Can You See” See The Street View Here
 

What should I wear?  Fun-formal attire or Filipino formal attire. Anything gold will also add a dash of 50th anniversary sparkle!
 

What’s on the schedule for the evening?  The evening begins with your optional museum tour of the Jim Rouse Pavilion 1st and 2nd floors from 6:00 – 6:30pm. Be sure to take a picture of the 6 foot icon Divine! Cocktails and music will be from 6:30 – 7:00pm on the 3rd Floor Ballroom. Enjoy a complimentary signature Philippine cocktail bar.

The Main Event begins at 7:00pm in the Jim Rouse Gala Room and includes a induction of Katipunan officers and board members, filipino-inspired contemporary menu, live filipino band, key note speaker Sonia Aranza, Rigodon de Honor, Young Filipino-American Debut and a special surprise nostalgic presentation.  The Main Program is scheduled from 7:15 – 8:45pm. This will be followed by dancing, an anniversary cake presentation and mingling with old and new friends. 
 

Are there tables and will there be a seated dinner?  There are tables and a full seated dinner.  Artisan cheese and fruit hors d'oeuvres will be served during the cocktail hour 6:30-7pm.  Beer and wine service will be available throughout the evening.
 

Will there be media?  Aesthetic Distance will be present to capture photos for our own promotional use.
 

Who else will attend?  This is our annual gathering of our strongest supporters, closest friends, elected officials, donors, officers ad board members and all those we work with to fulfill our mission: developing social and educational programs that promote Filipino culture in Maryland as well as provide philanthropic opportunities to support charitable causes in both our state and in our homeland.  The event is open to ticket-holders only and we expect approximately 300 guests that night.
